Steve Heine has practiced in Peoria, Illinois for almost 30 years. He has tried many cases throughout the State of Illinois from the northern most areas of the State to far Southern Illinois, including Madison County. He has and continues to handle a wide variety of litigation, including the defense of railroads, product manufacturers, industrial accidents of many kinds and insurers in first-party property insurance litigation concerning arson, fires, thefts and similar claims. Mr. Heine is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He was the President of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel in 2004-2005. He previously served as the Editor of the IDC Quarterly. He remains active in the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. He is a member of the DRI. He was an active member of the TTIPS section of the American Bar Association. He has written many articles on evidence and trial practice. He graduated from Illinois State University and received his law degree from Southern Illinois University in 1981, cum laude.
